Hi everyone,

I've decided it's time to start some direct reading instruction with my girls, who are now six.  The funny thing is that I can't remember exactly how I taught my boys to read!  I think the main tool I used was a set of 72 "Orton-Gillingham"-type flashcards.  Then we just practied reading.   

If you believe in Real Spelling (and I do!), what is the best method of direct reading instruction?
