In my posting 'A Curate's Egg' - a review of Heidi Harley's book 'English Words : a Linguistic Introduction' - I comment on the term 'listeme' that she uses. The general thrust of my observation is that the notion that it is supposed to describe is unnecessary.

I also discuss the term 'listeme' itself, noting that the coining is a 'hybrid' word. The concept of 'hybrid' words is one that real spellers should be familiar with; this TBox 2 Library eBook explains it.
